My Approach






My approach to health and wellness is quite simple: food is medicine. Given the proper nutrition and mindful self-care practices, our bodies have the power to heal and work as intended. In our modern Western culture, we are trained to believe that health and happiness come from a magic pill, potion, lotion or surgical procedure. However, by fueling our bodies naturally and taking a holistic approach to our health, we can begin to feel our very best, look our very best, live our very best and thrive each and every day. 

There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to your diet and health needs. There are hundreds of diets out there simply because they worked for someone. Nutrition is the only scientific field where you can disprove the same theory. You can have a study prove that you can lose weight on a low fat- high carbohydrate diet, but a second study proves that you can close weight on a high fat – low carbohydrate diet. It is because of bio-individuality. We will work together to create the ideal diet for you and you will learn how to tune into your body and give it what it needs. This never included counting calories or obsessing over calories in verse calories out.

I empower clients by teaching them a model of self-care to relieve a variety of health complaints and improve overall wellbeing. Using a functional diagnostic and holistic approach, I help to identify healing opportunities (within the hormone, gut and immune systems, etc.) that are creating dysfunction or imbalance in the body. Then, we work together to restore balance in the body using tools to improve diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction and natural supplementation to promote the healing process.

How


The process starts with a detailed intake session in which we discuss your intake forms that cover you health history, goals, and concerns. This information is used to create an interconnectedness map that reveals your biggest healing opportunities, beneficial lifestyle shifts, and appropriate labs. Most of the lab tests are self-administered at home and are easy to complete. Once we receive your report, we'll hold a results and recommendations session that details the key findings, what everything means, and tips for addressing any stressors or healing opportunities that are uncovered. 

Why
Most of your “common” symptoms/aches/pains aren’t “normal” or a “part of getting older” but a result of some type of imbalance or dysfunction occurring in the body. Once balance is restored, those symptoms/aches/pains will disappear altogether, or at least diminish, making weight loss and optimal health a reality!
